Great Catering Options for Your Stay at Hillside Hideaway Retreat

As you and your group prepare for your stay, you may be wondering if there are any catering options near Hillside Hideaway Retreat. Good question! I have put together a list below of local restaurants and businesses that I have found advertising catering in our area. This should be a great resource to start your search!

Kane's Kupcakes & Treats

If you are looking for catered options for sweets, be sure to check out Kane’s Kupcakes & Treats. Jenn, the owner, offers scrumptious treats, plus she has created a specific breakfast package for Hillside Hideaway Retreat guests!

Our family LOVES the stuffed cupcakes she makes! They are one-of-a-kind and sooo delicious! A must-try if you ask me!

Jenn is one of our top local bakers. She won First prize and Best of Show at the Clearfield County Fair in 2025 for the gluten-free cake she entered, plus first place for an apple pie cupcake! If you are local to the DuBois area, you can find Kane's Kupcakes & Treats exclusively at many local craft vending events. She normally sells out, so make sure you find her early on! Looking for a sweet treat for your stay at Hillside Hideaway Retreat? Is one of your group members celebrating a special occasion while you attend a retreat? Contact Jenn with Kane's Kupcakes & Treats to have a special dessert delivered right to the door of Hillside Hideaway Retreat! It may even be waiting for you in the fridge when you arrive! All dessert orders must be arranged between you and Jenn ahead of your stay. Hillside Hideaway Retreat will not arrange this for you. Please provide Jenn at least 3 weeks' notice of this request so she has time to get it prepared and make sure she has time in her schedule. Jenn has provided a list above of sweet treat items you can special order.

Kane's Kupcakes & Treats has put together a breakfast package specific for Hillside Hideaway Retreats guests. It includes various seasonal assortments of breads, muffins, danishes, cinnamon rolls, fruit, yogurt & granola, oatmeal, and juices. The items included will be adjusted based on the season and availability of ingredients. Kane's Kupcakes & Treats will be preparing most of the items from scratch! To make it even better, it will be conveniently waiting for you in the retreat kitchen when you arrive. All refrigerated items will be in the fridge, and all other items will be in a basket on the kitchen counter. 

If you do not want to worry about packing breakfast, this is just the option for you! 

Kane’s Kupcakes and Treats will do their best to accommodate food allergy requests but cannot guarantee that they can accommodate all requests. Jenn has lots of experience with gluten-free and sugar-free baking. Please coordinate any food allergy requests with Jenn when you submit your order.

Lakeside Market

Lakeside Market offers a variety of takeout food options as well as catering options. If you stop into this quaint Market, you will be warmly greeted by smiling faces! They have pizza, hoagies, salads, and homemade pasta salads that you can order to go. See their full menu HERE.

I have heard great things about the catering that they have provided in the past for a local scrapbooking group. I stopped in and grabbed a copy of their catering menu. See a copy of that HERE. I will say this may change in the future, but it gives your group an idea of what Lakeside Market can offer you. I know they have offered other groups a delivery option, but please ask if this is still an option for your group. Plus, they will work with you if there was something else that you were thinking your group wanted. If you do not see it on their menu, it does not hurt to ask. A few things that they have catered for the scrapbook groups were subs and a baked potato bar. The scrapbookering group says they have the BEST subs! When I picked up the catering menu, the owners did mention that this menu is more specifically for large groups (50 people). For retreat groups, they would most likely provide per-person pricing. Be sure to contact Lakeside Market ahead of your stay to coordinate your catering with them.

Luigi's Ristorante

For lovers of Italian cuisine, Luigi's Ristorante is a great catering option in our area. You can view their catering menu conveniently on their website. It looks like they have a few different catering options to choose from. From fully service catering to delivered catered food to family style dinner to be picked up by the customer from their restaurant in downtown DuBois. You can read all about their options on their website HERE. They do need advanced notice on some of their catering options, so please plan ahead if you are going to use this restaurant's catering service. If you choose to pick up your food from this restaurant, it is located only a short 6 minute drive from Hillside Hideaway Retreat.

Gateway Cafe

The Gateway Cafe is a great family restaurant for sit-down meals, but they also offer a catering menu if you would rather stay at the retreat and not worry about making your meals. You can find more information on their website or by calling them directly. Based on their website, for smaller groups, you may even be able to order directly from their website. If you choose to go eat here or just pick up your meal for takeout, this restaurant is a short 6-minute drive.

The Strawberry Tree Shop & Tea Room

The Strawberry Tree is located in Curwensville, PA, approximately 20 minutes from Hillside. This cute tea room offers a catering menu that includes light sandwiches, sides, and even a breakfast charcuterie. Their full catering menu is shown in the provided photo, but be sure to also check out their website HERE for any updates they may make.

If you are visiting Lisa’s Sew Crafty during your stay, you will pass right by this cute tea room and home decor boutique. You may want to check it out for yourself!

Taco Inc.

Taco Inc. does not have a specific catering menu, but the Family Packs that they list on their menu look to be an easy option for ordering takeout for a large group! Our family loves their street tacos, and I see this is one of the options on the Family Packs menu. You get 20 street tacos, plus rice, beans, chips, and their fresh-made salsa! This could easily feed 8 to 12 people. In the restaurant, they serve three street tacos per meal, and that portion is very filling. You can check out their menu HERE. The Family Packs are listed at the very bottom. Taco Inc is an easy 10-minute drive from Hillside Hideaway Retreat. Options Besides Catered Meals

If catered meals are not for you, there are also tons of local restaurants within minutes of the retreat center that you can dine at, order takeout from, or even have things delivered right to the door. We recommend some local options in our post HERE. We will be continually updating the list as my husband and I are trying to get out to try all our local restaurants.

If you would rather cook in, the retreat has a well-equipped kitchen with everything you would need to prepare a meal, including but not limited to crock pots, a toaster, a rice cooker, baking sheets, cookware, utensils, and serving bowls. Plus, plenty of plates, bowls, cups, and silverware. If your group prefers to limit dishes, we suggest bringing paper products. I will note that there is a dishwasher to help! But I know I like to maximize the time I have to sew when I am attending a retreat, so having paper plates on hand is always a plus!
