Tiffany's Stitchery - Your Next Favorite Embroidery & Cross Stitch Shop!

I have been on a mission to find local shops I can recommend to our Guests at Hillside Hideaway Retreat. I visited this shop for the first time this spring (2026). Well, let's just say this shop did not disappoint! I cannot believe this shop was in my town and I did not know about it. When I started researching local craft shops in our area, this was the first to pop up. I knew I had to go take a look!

Welcome to Tiffany's Stitchery! Located on Scribbner Avenue in downtown DuBois, PA. Let me take you on a quick tour. I will not spoil it all, as you will want to check out Tiffany's for yourself! This is a must-visit shop during your stay!

When you first walk up to the shop, you are warmly welcomed by the charm of this historic 1880s home. Upon opening the large French doors, I was in awe! You will be too! The walls are lined with colorful embroidery floss and beautiful kits.

Tiffanay and her husband have put so much love and hard work into renovating and preserving this home, creating a beautiful space for the Stitchery!

If you are in need of floss or cross-stitch fabric for your next project, Tiffany's Stitchery is the place to go! She has complete lines of multiple types of over-dyed cotton, silk floss, and metallic thread, so you should find just the color you need. There is also pearl cotton thread available. The Stitchery has an expansive selection of Aida, lugana, and linen fabrics. In addition, there is a wide selection of wool felt, kits, patterns, and a variety of sewing and crafting notions.

This shop is full of wonderful inspiration. Every nook and cranny has something new to discover. I could spend hours here looking at everything, and I do not even cross-stitch (but I may be easily persuaded). The day I stopped in, though, my husband was with me, who cannot stand still too long... what a rookie mistake! But I will definitely be back!

I love the charming atmosphere that Tiffany has created in this shop. As she said it herself, she has created a space within a renovated historic home that seems as if the house is being taken over by nature. It is so elegant and beautiful! It would be such a peaceful shop to take a day away from work to just relax and stitch.

Tiffany offers classes including Intro to Cross Stitching (covers stitch prep, materials, methods of cross stitching, as well as backstitch and working with over-dyed threads) and Embroidery and Sewing with Wool Felt (covers material prep, transfering designs with freezer paper, basic embroidery stitches, and 3-D felt sewing). Also offered at the Stitchery are other classes including specialty embroidery stitch classes and Hardanger classes. Watch the Stitchery’s Facebook page for class announcements. Looking for a class or demonstration during your stay at the retreat, give Tiffany a call! She would love to provide your group with a stitching class. Her space is limited to 6 at the shop, but she may offer to come to you while at retreat!

Tiffany is also looking to expand her inventory to include some more sewing and quilting notions. If you are in need of anything while at our retreat center, feel free to contact Tiffany to see if she has what you are looking for. She may even offer to deliver!

From Hillside Hideaway Retreat, the Stitchery is only 8 minutes away and super simple to get to. If you turn right out of the end of the driveway and follow Highland Street Extension until it ends, then turn left onto Scribner Ave, follow Scribner Ave until you see the blue sign for the Stitchery! There is plenty of street parking in front of the shop, so you should have no problem finding a spot. There are stairs into this shop, but if you need an easier entrance, call Tiffany ahead of your visit. She can welcome you through the back entrance of the home.
